Left By Train

Left By Train - Cover

In the summer of 2011 I recorded a piece of music called Left By Train. It’s some kind of a sketch for a more complex composition, i’d like to realise someday. A few days ago I thought it would be nice to publish it. So, here it is!

Various Artists - decAde [tonAtom.121]

decade cover

For a netlabel 10 is a ripe old age, isn’t it? This year tonAtom exists a decade and celebrates this jubilee with a compilation with contributions from 16 artists of the labels’ universum. But beware: It’s not a retrospektive. Oh, no! tonAtom is lively more than ever as you can hear on decAde which is the fitting name of the anniversary release.

Under the name The Daily Routines my dear friend Gregor and me took part as well. We picked up two old ideas from the time before we both founded our band ne:o in 2003 and tinkered a very nice collage of folky acoustic guitars, indietronica beats and ambient soundscapes. The songs are called Gitarrenlied and Balance. And by the way: It’s our 10th anniversary, too. We started making music in the year 2002 somewhere in a vaulted cellar in Dresden-Friedrichstadt.

But now please turn your attention to decAde, download it for free and enjoy this great release!

Shortcuts - Thanks, I Feel Fine

Shortcuts Cover

Since early 2010 I play guitar in a trio called Shortcuts together with Jule Stephan (Flanschies also) on the drums and Andreas Schulze (former Aspekte der Eitelkeit, Montana Peachclub, Lindbergh), who is the founder of the band, the main songwriter, singer and guitarist as well. The music we play is a a fine mixture of Pop, Folk, Blues and Elektro, combined with lyrics in english and german language.

You’d like to hear what it is all about? Just download our debut-album “Thanks, I Feel Fine”, which has been released at djummi-records a few weeks ago.

LOKI - Let Go

LOKI_cover

The Dresden based band LOKI has just released a new album called “let go”. I was not only responsible for its mastering. I also mixed three of its songs. Here you can have a listen to the song “Misled”:

ne:o - direkt [aaahh.012 / tonAtom.J02]

Don’t miss the latest ne:o-release! It’s the live-recording of our last concert, which took place at the charming Thalia-Cinema in Dresden on December the 7th of 2009. The Album is called “direkt” and has been released as a free download both at aaahh-records and tonAtom. I took care of the production, the mastering and the artwork.

Fabian Russ - Schrottmann Remixed [tonAtom.114]

Schrottmann - Cover

Just now a remarkable new album has been released at tonAtom: It’s called Schrottmann Remixed by the Leipzig based composer Fabian Russ. A couple of illustrious musicians got together and edited Russ` Original Schrottmann, which is a film soundtrack presenting a perfect mixture of piano arrangements and field recordings. Very different but worth listening songs were formed, which all go beyond the scope of the usual association of remixing.

I am very happy to be part of this release with a contribution of my own. It’s called Schrott, Mann!.

So, don’t hesitate and download the album. Have fun listening.
